For the longest time during the late 1800s and early 1900s, camels roamed around the Sonoran Desert in the Southeastern United States. Although not a single camel has been seen since the mid-1900’s they are still a part of the history and culture surrounding the tiny town of Quartzsite, Arizona. We hope to keep the unusual history of the area alive by introducing our own unique camel. Meet …The Quartzsite Camel.

The Quartzsite Camel, or Quartz as she had become know, began her travels in 2021. During the summer months, she spends time traveling and exploring fun and exciting places around the United States. She also dominates our Instagram page with pictures of the various places she visits.

During the winter, you can usually find her back home in Quartzsite, Arizona, sitting in the office at Hi Jolly Adventures. There she is either relaxing or taking advantage of more photo opportunities with the many tourists that visit the area. If you find yourself in the small town of Quartzsite, Arizona, stop by and say hi to the Quartzsite Camel!
